I live under a rock – so until this book wouldn’t stop staring at me in my local Sainsbury’s I had no idea who Coco Mellors was. This book simply is sisterhood: the arguments, the distance, but the all-consuming love when it comes down to it.
Admittedly, I rated this book four out of five stars. Selfishly, it’s because I wanted more! The story was a little predictable, and the storylines followed a similar pattern. But, isn’t that the point?
How far can you vary writing a book about sisters? The characters were these beautifully, fleshed out people you could pluck out of the street. Perhaps I’m being a little pretentious myself dropping a star for the exact point of the book.
Regardless, it has taken me a long time to get back into reading. My life is often too busy for enjoyments. But, as I finish my degree and have a while until my next endeavour, I did read this book in a mere three days. I very much couldn’t put it down – and that summarises an incredible book for me.
