What a world we live in where our hobbies are the ones thrown under the rug, not our work…
Life has been crazy recently. For those who don’t know me, I have just finished my undergraduate degree in Creative Writing. Very exciting, but very nerve wracking waiting for my results…
I hit the graduate jackpot and started a job immediately after finish. You’re looking at an Assistant Editor at Elsevier!! Only a temp job, it takes me perfectly to my place to study MA Publishing Media at Oxford Brookes University. They’ve all fit together quite perfectly – as if it’s meant to be and all those cliches. But, me being me, I’m still carrying on my part-time job at a pub, writing my first novel and creating stuff like this!!
I adore writing; anything and everything. Whilst I do enjoy my work, it’s not my passion. This is. So I will continue this blog, and my Bookstagram, but I’m just simply, human. A lot of people tend to forget those you see online are people. People who have busy lives and can’t constantly produce and produce. Obviously, the dream is always to be able to live a happy, comfortable life on a hobby. But with that comes sacrifice.
I had a little break, only a week or so, and it did wonders for me. I go into June with hopefully a better schedule, but I will not ridicule myself for taking breaks. For a person with so much drive, sometimes I do have to force myself to stop every now and then.
So, here’s to the future of this blog and my Bookstagram, remembering that I am a human – a very busy one at that – but I will never abandon what keeps me happy.
