His grasp holds me so very close for days,

And his kisses are so sweet and tender.

Every day blurs into the next,

But he does love me so.

The outside becomes a distant memory,

My whole life being only with him.

We committed early as our love only grew,

But he does love me so.

I’ve never seen anyone show care quite like he does,

Most dispute, but he means well.

I have tried to leave, for he wants for me to stay.

But he does love me so.

–

I set off one day to the next town along,

And the next and then next after that.

Maybe this isn’t how love should go,

He might not love me so.

–

He finds me after a little while,

Though I hid myself quite well.

He hid his weapon just as skilfully,

And love did kill me so.
