I love photos. People say the eyes are the window to the soul, but I believe photographs are. The things a person captures and the memories they hold onto, nothing can tell you more about someone’s values.
In an age where cameras are readily available to capture everything, their value being diminished. Years ago, families had to sit so still for these memories which we can capture with a button now. But what does that mean for the future and generations to come?
Recently, I have been going through so many photo albums and reminiscing on the past; the joy it brings is mirrored by no other. However, this has made me think about my own legacy, memories and life. Will someone have to look through thousands upon thousands of photos on a broken old iPhone to remember me? Or perhaps an old and outdated memory stick which most likely won’t be compatible with anything anymore. Just a dusty, old memory.
I love capturing the beauty of the world; what it’s like to love and live unapologetically and frivolously. I do wish to share this forever, but how, I think it’s something we will all have to face eventually. What really matters from the myriad of photographs we all hold dear to?
