This is instantly the BEST fantasy world I have ever interacted with!!! This past month I have fully immersed myself in Westeros and the complicated lives of the Seven Kingdoms.

I have to admit, it took me about half the book (and a few googles) to finally realise which character was which and who they were related to, their kingdom AND the history behind it all. This only impressed me more, taking a gander into Martin’s mind to see the pure complexity of these families. Each character and their subsequent chapters have a beautiful, unique voice that both befits their personality and their age. I do love a multi-pov novel as I feel it gives so much more insight into every character.

However, nobody told me how much heartbreak this book held!!! I would be reading at work or on the bus holding back tears, George R. R. Martin is one brutal writer but my god is he incredibly, stupidly talented. Not once could I have predicted how the story would unfold and what as going to happen next. I am dreading who else will fall into their awful fate as I carry on reading this series.

I am instantly jumping onto the next book, so enthralled with these characters I don’t think I could ever take a break…
